Welcome!

Project Pouch

Welcome to Designs by Brennie.  I began making the bags and pouches you see here at the request of my daughter who is an absolutely voracious knitter.  The first item she asked for was a small drawstring pouch with a loop to attach it to a belt loop or a purse strap so she could “carry” it with her but have both hands free to knit while waiting in lines, doctors offices or while sitting in a restaurant, without carrying a more cumbersome bag that wasn’t needed for small projects (the Project Pouch).

That being said, the next project was to design a large bag that could be used to organize and transport several small projects either in or out of the pouches, with space to keep needles and notions handy (the Knits-in-it-Bag is born).

After that, we had a need for a cosmetic sized zippered pouch to store notions like stitch markers, measuring tapes, cable needles and the like, so the Zippered Pouch came into being.

Next came the Needle Nook with pockets for 12 sets of 8″ or shorter DPNs or circular needles.

And now I am embarking on the design of various handbag styles, some large, some smaller, some with interchangeable exterior fabrics to change the look without having to move all the items we girls cram into our handbags.

So to my friends at the Neighborhood Knit Shop in Nashville, Tennessee as well as others and friends I have yet to meet, here are the bags you’ve helped me design incorporating your questions, comments and suggestions for improvements. Please browse my “Shop” tab to see bags I have ready to become yours immediately and feel free to make suggestions, criticisms and ask any questions you may have.
